HELPING HANDS CLINIC
As we take our first steps into this special season of giving, today we celebrate the ministry of our mission partner, Helping Hands Clinic. HHC has consistently served our community’s most vulnerable for almost 30 years. To continue this life-saving work in 2019 and beyond, we encourage you to participate in the Helping Hands Clinic Annual Holiday Donation Match Challenge!
Contributions to last year’s drive enabled Helping Hands Clinic to provide 2,426 visits through our Mon., Wed., and Thurs., night medical clinics. Each Monday over 60 people are served a hot meal, and many of them are provided with clothing and other necessities. Also, there have been 1,045 visits to Thursday’s Women’s Health & Empowerment Program, where a nutritious meal is also served. Clothing, showers, hygiene products, education programs, and support groups are available as well, in a safe and caring environment. The year saw a significant increase in volunteers joining our efforts. The monetary value of the volunteers was estimated at $815,702. Wow!
Our volunteer donor and “Uncle Ike Family” has pledged again to match your donation given to the clinic by Dec 25th. These funds will be used by the clinic to support all aspects of program operations. Donations by check can be made to FUMC with Helping Hands Clinic in the memo line or through the ways to give below. Donations can also be made directly to HHC at www.hhgnv.org.
We are so grateful for all the ways Helping Hands and FUMC have been in partnership for so many years to bring healing, not only to broken bodies but also to broken spirits. Please also feel free pass the word to anyone who’d be interested in helping to support this life-giving work! God Bless You.
